Valve size... will 2.02 1.60 valves fit a stock 305 cylinder bore or do I need to overbore?
Working on a budget, I have a carburated 305 and a set of dz302 camel humps . 2.02/1.60 valves 64cc chamber straight plug. victor jr intake, summit .510 lift cam ,and a quadrajet 4 barrel. just had the heads redone , do I need to over bore the cylinders and run a larger piston relief so the valves dont kiss the jug?
i think you should try to find a a 350 or 400 engine to put your heads on but to answer your question yes they will fit and you should not have to worry about valve to piston Clarance if you are using the stock pistions but you should always check to be sure never take any ones word check for yourself so you will know for sure that the valves will not hit the pistons
to that one guy that said something about a factory 2.05 head in 85 you are wrong the biggest valve Chevy ever put in a factory small block head was a 2.02
