How do you train to hit the curveball & the splitter?
I don't have access to a pitching machine, and some of the guys in my league have a devastating curve and/or splitter that is tough to hit. I try to work the count all the time looking for that fat pitch, but would be cool if I could hit the other 2 with some consitancy . Any suggestions?
The best idea is to get to a batting cage, some have curve ball settings. If that isn't an option, the next best thing is to get a whiffleball and bat and use that. if you can watch the curve of the whiffleball and learn from that, nothing you will see in a real baseball game will be even close. It's like using a donut on your bat to warm up, then taking it off. When you swing without the donut, you can swing faster; When you watch for a curve from a real baseball, it wll be easier
