i have a ibm thinkpad x20 and use a belkin wireless card but cant conect to the inter net?
the card is connected but when i go to explorer is always says cannot find server help our land lord supplies wireless internet and my card picks it up but explorer always says cannot find server
Talk to your landlord and find out who the Internet Service Provider is. Then talk to their technical support department. They should be able to help you determine if the modem is talking to the system correctly. From there, if your landlord is using a wireless router to provide the wireless part of the connection, you may need to talk to that wireless router manufacturer for help. You may also need to talk to Belkin; since that's the only specific company you mention, it's the only number I can give you. Call them at 1 800 223 5545, extension 2263.
It's also possible that at almost any point along this chain once you get to the wireless part of the connection that this is nothing more than an interference issue. Move the PC away from other electronics and large electrical appliances if possible. It's also possible that you may need to talk to Microsoft about your Browser or your specific version of Windows; they're at 1 800 936 5700.
The place to start, though, is definitely to see if the modem is an issue... I help people out with this stuff all night at work; I wish I could provide you with more specifics, but don't know enough about the circumstances to offer more.
