How many total members are there?
There are 15,20, and 25 students respectively in the chess, debate and math club. What is the total # of different students belonging to the clubs if there are 6 in chess and debating, 7 in chess and math, 8 in debating and math, and 2 students in all three?
21 + 26 + 29 = 76
but the 8 on all 3 teams got counted three times so subtract 16
and 6 of the 14, 7 of the 15, and 4 of the 12 got counted twice so subtract (6+7+4) = 17
76 - 16 = 60, 60 - 17 = 43
so 43 people
