10 Panel Border
I need help with intarsia knitting?

I am knitting a blanket and it's done in 2 colours and using instarsia knitting. It has a garter stitch border of 10 stitches so I have one bundle of colour 1 for that, then there's a panel of 48 stitches which forms the pattern then another 10 in garter stitch, then 48 pattern and 10 garter stitches. As I said the garter border is done in colour 1, then the 2 pattern panels are done in 2 rows of colour 2 then 2 in colour 1, then 2 in 2 then 2 in 1 etc, so i have 5 bundles of yarn for each part. My question is, once I have done the 2 rows of the pattern panel in colour 2, then 2 rows in colour 1 and i want to go back to colour 2, am i ok just to bring it up from 2 rows down, or do i have to cut the yarn and reattach everytime?

Yes, you can carry it up for two rows. When you get to the end of the intarsia section of color 1, bring color 2 up under it to the right to twist the colors together, which you should also do at each border, using separate skeins or balls of yarn for your borders, rather than trying to carry the yarn across there.

Thanks for looking at our 10 Panel Border information.
