which is a better phone: the samsung t429 prepaid from t-mobile or the motorola EM326g from net 10?
im either going to chose t-mobile or net 10. i like t-mobile because of the phones but net 10 because of the rates. but i just want to see which phone is better overall.
I haven't used the t-mobile Samsung T429, but I have the very similar TracFone Samsung T301g. My wife has the Motorola EM326g. I reviewed both of these phones for my blog, which you can find at the links below in the "sources" section.
Overall, I like the EM326 a little better than the T301. The EM326 has a nicer camera (1.3 mp compared to VGA on the Samsung), room for expansion memory cards (holds up to 2 GB cards), and the mp3 player. If you'll use either the camera or the mp3 player, go with the Motorola. The Motorola also has a little better audio quality.
Some disadvantages of the Motorola are that the Samsung might have a slight edge in reception (I tried both phones in the bottom of a 3-level parking garage, and the Samsung could dial out while the Motorola could not). And the Motorola has iTap predictive text while the Samsung has T9. Not a big deal if you don't text much, but for heavy texters T9 seems to be the preferred system.
One other thing I just thought of is that the Samsung screen is a little bigger, but they're both the same resolution, meaning they have the same amount of detail. The Motorola just squeezes that detail into a little smaller area. The Motorola display is also a little better in direct sunlight.
